I got pulled over twice for underglow lights under my Accord. Just wondering what the actual laws are against them, b/c both cops that pulled me over were being butt-holes and was like we can take your underglows out right here and now. but one cop told me one thing and the next cop told me something different that I thought was okay. so can somebody please help me here?

pretty much most states say [if they are on, they are a distraction]

well neither cop told me that, the first said if they are flashing blue or red then he can take them, the next one said if they are flashing any color he can take them, the last one also said that i can have them solid color no flash, but idk if i can trust that since they both told me different things :[

Look up S.C.'s law on underbody neons.

i know this an older thread, but i just stumbled on it and thought i would share my experience with neon. i had full green underbody and green interior neon, none of which was flashing or anything, but i got pulled over and the officer was a jerk about it. he said that it was a distraction to other drivers and was illegal. because the officer had pulled me over in my driveway, my dad had come out of the house to see whats going on and heard how the officer was talking to me so this made him pissed. my dad ended up contacting the prosecuting attorney and talking to them along with a couple of judges and they said that (in michigan atleast) that there are no real laws regarding neon, however, they said that if i was involved in a car accident and i had the neon on, i would be ruled at fault no matter what really happened because the neon is a distraction. i said screw this and pulled all the neon out and sold it.

well i rarely have them on, so i was just wondering if i do have them on and i get pulled over will it really stand up in court if there is no laws againast it?

I think it is going to depend on the officer and how he is feeling that night. If the officer does write you a ticket my guess is that it will be for not following lighting laws. Laws do say that only red light can be seen from the rear of the vehicle, wite or amber from the side and front. So if you have green or blue or something like that you are in violation of those laws, however it is still gray area because of how the wording is and the neon is coming from underneath the vehicle. My guess is that you will still lose the battle.

Yeah with white underbody, I think that just makes things that much foggier and unclear. It is definately a gray area. As far as that sponsorship offer, I don't think paying for a sponsorship is always bad, you just have to make sure that the discounts they are offering to you offset the price you have to pay upfront. I paid 90 for a sponsorship one time from decalfx.com but for one year I got full body decals every month for free. All I had to do is take pics of the new decals on the car and send them in with my next months choice I wanted for decals. It worked out fine for me, just read everything and ask lots of questions. Make sure that this is in your best interest and not just theirs.

I would want to see what kind of prices they are going to be charging you for specific items just to compare to other companies and make sure that they aren't inflating their prices so they can show a big "discount" to you.
