My street connects with a main street in the city called Southmost and because of it's size (5 lanes wide and covers almost half of the city), the fact that there are only 5 shallow turns, and that it's pretty much empty after 12am its common to find street races going on. But this past month i saw to idiot wannabe street racers racing in a 2005 Ford Mustang V6 filled with body mods and a Mitsubishi Eclipse covered in neon lights. Well these idiots tried to act cool while racing by changing lanes quickly and "drifting". All they did was make a fool of themselfs. The mustang ended up crashing thru a bus stop and falling into a resaca(a rainwater channel formed naturaly when the river changed course) and the eclipse ended up spinning out and breaking the suspension on its front driver side wheel causing it to shoot up and breaking the fender and hood. So then a pass to check out the race in my car and find a Stang taking a bath and an eclipse with a tire thru its hood and fender. The only thing I could say was, "What a bunch of idiots! They give real street racers a bad name!". :mad3:

No sorry I don't. It was 1am in the morning and I was just coming back from a party, but since then I learned my lesson and take a small camera with me EVERYWHERE,lol! I do have a video of a guy in a late model 2WD Ford F150 that I saw at the beach. I don't know how he did it, but he got 3 out of 4 tires more than a foot into the sand if you guys want to see it lol.

I have a friend, who is actually a NJ Beach Rescue Patrol guy, as well as a firefighter, ARES/RACES (amateur radio), MARS (military aux. radio serv.), and fire police. He got his truck stuck, and then burned out the transmission on the beach.

Damn that must have sucked. Was the truck 2WD or was it just really bad terrain at the time even for a 4X4?

I remember when my family and I went to Mexico for "Dia de Los Muertor" (The Day of The Dead for all of those that don't speak Spanish) to lay flowers and candies on my grandfather's tomb and well the graveyard is a really old graveyard located in a very rural are in Mexico called the "Labores de Salitre" (there is no english equivalent that I know of). The terrain there is pretty much mostly soft sand with small brushes and small areas of quicksand because seawater tends to travel underground through small aquifers. We were driving a 1995 GMC Yukon SLE 4x4 (two door not the 4 door ones) and what happened was that the dirt road that lead to the graveyard it pretty much sand a foot or two into the ground because it had been raining heavily all week. It looked as if it had been swallowed. Well there was no other way so we kept on going and what happened next was incredible. one section of the road had turned sorta into quicksand (I'm saying sorta cause it had a solid botton due to the rocks and fence posts that used to be on the road). So the Yukon started sinking into the mud/wet sand until it had sunk to middle of the door. My grandma was freaking out but luckily for us the stock engine on these trucks are 300ft/lb small block 350s not to mention ours had a mild cam upgrade. So my dad switched the transfer case from 4X4High to 4X4Low and we were able to make it thru slowly and in a very dirty Yukon.

Lots of johnny ricers out there. The fast and the furious movies created a generation of kids who are convinced a body kit and wing on a fwd car makes it "fast". Then you have the next worse thing. Kids who have an idea that big turbos and nitrous are all it takes to make a actual fast car with out supporting the mods. Sad deal. But very funny to hear about them gettin owned.

I agree but there are some pretty good organized street racing in some areas. Here in the valley there used to be an organized street racing group until well the state of Tamaulipas (mexican state right across the U.S./Mexico border on the edge of our town) started providing low cost import and domestic cars for private export to the u.s. Then lots of young H.S. students started speeding around town in those cheap cars trying to imitate the movies.

Don't remind me. My dad and me have a commercial account on Oreilly's because of his Tire dhop. And one time I went to buy some new pistons and a water pump for a customer's car and these early 20's year old guys come in with all sorts of jewelry on a pair of Mustang GTs and a really thick wad of cash. I was thinking wow these guys are going to buy a forged rotating assembly or they have a roush supercharger on order. Nope, they spent over $400 on a steering wheel, engine dress up kits, decals, and the most annoying thing ever lots and lots of chrome.

Reminds me of some asshole with a Viper (Burgandy w/ white bold strip) over here in Sacramento, tried acting all hard and everything. Ofcourse with a chick in the passenger seat. He does some lame burnout, and takes off. After all of that - I leave. An hour later I coming back that way -- His viper is pretty much in the same place as he did the burnout, this time its totalled with some black accord on the other side of the road. He and his girl must have been taken in an ambulance or cruiser (As the police were parked on the corner of the street). City Workers come out to clean the mess and then as I'm standing there laughing my ass off. His car falls off of the last 3 tires its sitting on. I'm like wtf? Lol

Because kids get through driving school and think their gods. They take a car a beater most likely and slap vinyals on it IF that and think they can push 100 everywhere they go.
Or they try to show off in their dads vette or bmw but can't actually drive worth shit.

Aw mr bad luck was banned.
Anywhoo. Adults parents grown-ups. Well never say hey streetracing is cool and ok to do! Regardless if it was jeff gordan driving the car or dale E.(nascar) Just no going to happen good drivers or bad drivers. Its not so much giving streetracing a bad name. its more like enforcing that streetracing is "bad".
Even if all streetracers could lets say drive perfectly and not make a wrong move turn etc. They can swurve whereever they want turn and speed up in heavy traffic with NEVER harming anyone or anything. Streetracing will still never be ok. bottom line/
