I would eyes closed, if they are both in good condition of course, the RX is my favorite car but if I was to buy a RX I would look for one thats stock that way its most likely not taken pedal to the medal if you know what I mean, but it is worth it yea

The problem with RX7's is that you have to change the a'pex seals. It's a very expensive, and difficult, job to do yourself or pay someone else to do, and it needs to be done every 60k.

obviously youre not already into RX7s, so save yourself the headache and the expenses.
its a do it yourself kind of car because theyre arent many mechanics out there that know how to work on rotaries, and the newest rx7 is still an OLD car.
i am a sucker for high maintenance bitches, so i have an RX7 haha.
a silvia is a much better machine and alot lower maintenance, and it will be easier to drive at the limit and makes more power than the RX7. plus the sr20det is an awesome motor, and parts are plentiful even in the USA.
are you able to register and insure a silvia in your state?
p.s. what year silvia?

If you have the money you could always buy the RX7 and then get an LS1 conversion kit, but if you do you will have to upgrade the whole brake system.

brakes are the least of your worries. Suspension to hold a small-block v8 (see: heavy) as opposed to the factory rotary (one of the lightest production motors).

Yeah but think about it. The extra weight of a small block on the nose will make it harder for him to slow down and turn. The stock brakes were not designed for that amount of force generated, so a simple brake ugrade would also help.

rx7s have plenty of braking power.
have you ever driven one? no? then shush!
thats like saying you would need a brake upgrade if you had a 200lb passenger.
*rolls eyes*
also why spend 14k on a car just to yank out its motor and then drop another couple grand on a swap?

yes i have driven one, but it doesn't satisfy my tastes. If to you the braking power satisfies you its ok with me that's your opinion because you have a taste for this sort of cars not me. ok.

Rotary engines are ALOT different than cylinder engines. They are much harder to work on, and if you get stuck it's very difficult to find someone that has experience working on the motor other than a dealer. I'm not saying it doesn't have potential, but you have to weigh your options when considering spending that kind of money. I myself would go with the silvia. I've heard many stories about complications with fully built rotaries that are properly tuned. just my two cents...
