So I think there needs to be something done about the less amount of activity on here. I see there is about 79,000 members but not all are still on here? I think a mass email should go out and say that you need to post or your account may be removed for inactivity, just so we can see these boards get more active.

I think it's because of the sponsership thing. That's how I found you guys. I'm gonna stick around though, you aren't all a bunch of posing trash talkers that think they have the best or fastest cars in the world...........I like that.

Yes true, I found them the same way but I want to start getting on forums to see what and who people drive and such.

There's got to be ALOT of Honda based forums out there

Honda-Tech is always ... interesting. But you'll find many times the make/model-based forums aren't as friendly.
The lack of activity stems from the age of many of our members. I only joined in '04 (5 years ago now!) but many of them joined back in '98-'00 when the forums were really going (over a decade ago). The problem is, if a member is deleted, we lose their posts and threads, so many of these older tech articles would be lost (although some already are...)

Exactly my point but thats why you can get a addon that deletes the member but saves all the posts and threads from that member.

Plus, from time to time, the OG's will come back to say hi. I think we do prune 0-post members that've been around for a while (aka lurkers) but if someone had 1000 posts back in the day, might as well keep them on.

i think the activity in the forums somewhat died after the SRO CIVIL WAR.

We had several civil wars ... the last one was I think in '06 while I was in CA on vacation and started over the whole G-Tech argument (I think it was Kriz or K. who hid all the boards except the purg and banned most of the OG's and other regular members). After the most recent one, alot of our members either left or asked to be deleted, so thus one reason we have about 80,000 members and many of them haven't visited in years. Another reason is many, like myself, are either working or in college and focusing on their studies ... keep in mind, alot of them joined in '00 or '01 when they were in HS, and it's been almost a decade since. Alot of things change in that amount of time, so they just don't have the time they used to.
Since it doesn't take much space to keep them members, might as well.

Pssssh. Which one?! The last one of course pretty much was the one that drove the rest away, but the board lost a few everytime a war broke out. Most are gone forever, and some just lurk, and only a handful still post here who were in all those battles. Seeing as how I was involved with most of those wars, I dub myself "war hero."

I think I remember one big war back when I first joined, where everyone got banned. hahahha

Yep, that was fun. I kinda miss some of those purgatory threads from back in the day ... the banned bus, FiestaR, BadBoyThePrince, etc. etc.
Been very tempted lately to hit "ban" on more than a few occasions, been trying to show some restraint though.

Everyone remember the last one when gojigen/wraith all of a sudden claimed that on top of being some hotshot anti fraud bank executive and a sponsored race driver, he was a MIT grad and a former Navy SEAL? That shit was funny.

Mr. "I have a twin turbo NSX, but it suddenly burned up and is gone once an Acura tech show up on the board" Angel5
Mr. "I totally beat this car in a race but I'm not sure if they knew it was a race" FiestaR,

Mr. "I thought I'd be cooler if I told everyone I had a BMW (http://www.zintext.com/keyClick.php?keywords=BMW&campid=5336286246&SID=sro1), but I'll just admit I'm a 16 year old liar and hope it's all cool" Euro_Rev

I thought I had moved that thread into a "best of SRO" section. And then the section went away with one of the 5,000 layout changes that happened in the past couple years.
Well, at least the only casualty in the war with Euro_rev was Euro_rev. The Ray SiR 6 one brought that fool BigBlockBB6 out to defend him or joing th fight against those who knew better, and they both went.
